Zoho News

Implementation of the Week

  • Automated Enablement of Customer Bank Payments in Zoho Books
    • In this implementation, our goal was to automate the activation of Bank payments for customers in Zoho Books
    • By default, bank payments are not enabled for Customers. But as a general rule of thumb, if a client has ACH enabled (via Stripe) for their Invoices, it is preferable for a client to pay via ACH rather than credit card
    • In this particular instance, most Zoho Books Customers are created via the CRM integration. This is important to note because Customers created this way do not trigger ZBooks workflows.
    • To solve for this, we added a SQL table in Zoho Analytics that shows any Customers without bank payments enabled
    • Lastly, we added a scheduled function that checks this list every 3 hours, and activates bank payments for all listed Customers

Code Share of the Week

  • Generating API Credentials for Zoho to use in a 3rd Party App
    • You may have a webmaster who wants to write code on your wordpress site that needs to make calls to your Zoho account. This could include pulling product information from Zoho Inventory, or Account information for a customer portal. In that case, your webmaster will need credentials generated by you to make API calls.   This codeshare walks you through exactly how to do all of this.
