Check for Duplicate Contact Name on Save and Edit
This one comes from a community question by Cat Alvarez, who wanted to catch duplicate contact names on save but ran into the wall that validation rules can only check one field at a time. The fix is a pair of client scripts in JavaScript, one for the create page and one for the edit page, that grab the first and last name, run a COQL query through the new ZRC library, and pop up a confirmation if a match already exists. Instead of blocking the save outright (because yeah, two real people can absolutely share the same name), the user gets to decide whether to proceed or back off. The edit-page version adds a small extra check to skip the current record itself, so saving an unchanged record does not trigger the popup. Drop your Contacts module API names into the snippet and you’re good to go.
