What is Zoho POS?
Zoho POS is Zoho’s modern take on retail Point of Sale (POS), built with the needs of brick-and-mortar and omnichannel retailers in mind. As a cloud-based solution, it helps store owners manage sales, inventory, and customer transactions in real time—whether they’re in-store, online, or mobile. POS sets itself apart with a clean interface, quick onboarding process, and tight integration with Zoho Inventory.
Unlike traditional POS systems that often require costly hardware and complicated backends, POS operates smoothly across devices with minimal setup. It's particularly well-suited for small-to-medium retailers looking for a cost-effective, scalable option within the Zoho ecosystem. With strong support for barcode scanning, multi-store management, and even e-commerce syncing, POS continues to grow as a viable contender in the POS space—especially when paired with other Zoho tools.
Why we rate it "Probably"
POS earns a “Probably” rating from Zenatta because it hits many of the right notes for retail businesses, particularly those already working within the Zoho environment. The app offers powerful features like real-time inventory sync, mobile-first sales, and a streamlined checkout experience. Plus, native integrations with Zoho Inventory and Books help reduce double entry and keep backend systems aligned.
That said, POS still has room to mature. Customization is somewhat limited—you can’t tailor every workflow or receipt detail as extensively as in more established POS platforms. Also, third-party app integrations beyond Zoho are fairly constrained. These gaps could pose challenges for more complex operations or those wanting hyper-tailored solutions. But for many small-to-medium retailers, especially in the Zoho ecosystem, POS remains a very strong choice.
