Implementation of the Week

• Automated Contractor Bill Generation via CRM Scheduled Function
  • In this implementation, our goal was to set up an automation to manage the sign-off and billing process for contractors working for our client
  • First, we build functionality in the CRM for time to be tracked by Contractors against various Deals (Engagements)
  • Then, we run a monthly scheduled function that aggregates all time-entries from the previous month, formats them into a document, and sends this document to each Contractor for confirmation via e-sign
  • Upon signing, a Bill record is generated in Zoho Books under the appropriate Vendor record for each Contractor

Code Share of the Week

• Update a View’s Sharing Details in Zoho Analytics
  • This is a newly released API endpoint from the Zoho Analytics team that allows you to updating the sharing rules for a given view. This would be useful for automatic sharing of certain views to roles within your organization. This could be used to create automations to set up view sharing based on roles/profiles in the CRM, ensuring that your employees automatically have access to the reports they need.
