The CRM Zen Show Episode 233 – Zoho Got A Book Job

Zoho News

Implementation of the Week

  • Improved Integration Buildout for Zoho Inventory + Shopify
    • The pre-built integration between Zoho Inventory and Shopify is pretty well put together, but it does miss a few key areas to completely line up with Shopify
    • In this implementation, we wrote custom functions to automate two key missing pieces in the integration
    • First, our function triggers on the creation of a Sales Order in Inventory to create an Invoice and log payment received to that invoice.
    • Next, when a fulfillment is logged in Shopify (if not shipping out of Inventory), we automatically create a Package and Shipment in Inventory
    • Creating these records helps to keep our clients Accounting and Physical stock keeping measurements accurate

Code Share of the Week

  • Syncing CRM Accounts and Contacts to Books Customers and Contact Persons via API
    • When dealing with the Books APIs, things get tricky because the API name for Books Customers is contacts, which often causes a disconnect with developers who usually equate the term contact with an individual rather than a company.
  • Sync CRM Parent Account Contacts to Books Customer Child Account
    • If a CRM is using Parent Accounts with their own Contacts, then a Books Invoice logged to a Child Account may need to be sent to a Contact of a Parent Account. Use this snippet in Zoho Books attached to the “Customers” module.
