Zoho CRM: ICR Extraction for Subform Table Data
Handing Zia a vendor PDF and getting a sales order back only ever half-worked, because ICR could not write into a subform, and a purchase order without line items is not much of a sales order. That gap is closed, so the table values now land where they belong. In a perfect world every vendor would hand you an API, but you are not connecting to fifty different companies that email you PDFs, so if you receive purchase orders from customers this one is worth testing this week. Available in the US, India, and EU data centers.
Zoho Community Digest: July 2026 Updates (Part 3)
July’s digest actually landed inside July for once, and beyond the cross-app roundup covering CRM, Projects, and Brands, the highlighted community post from Paul on rebuilding the Desk to CRM association is worth the click on its own. His trick of stripping the unique part off an email and searching contacts by domain is one to keep in your back pocket, since native association only matches on primary and secondary email and falls apart when the person filing the ticket is not the main contact on the account.
Zoho Analytics: AutoML Forecasting and New Data Connectors
AutoML picks up time series models and support for bringing your own model, forecasting now runs inside pivot views, and new system tags let you flag views as trusted or outdated. Worth knowing the difference between the two tags: trusted has to be applied manually per asset and pushes those views to the top of selection lists, while outdated propagates down to every child report built from the parent and can only be cleared from the parent itself. Just don’t treat the outdated tag as a reason to stop cleaning house, and always filter machine forecasts through what you actually know about your own seasonality.
Zoho Recruit: Multiple Hiring Pipelines
If hiring a developer and hiring a salesperson should not run through the same interview stages, Recruit now supports separate pipelines mapped to specific job openings. Small hiring teams can usually get by on one pipeline and a shared understanding of which stages to skip, but for a staffing or temp agency where the flows look nothing alike, this makes the predetermined path much easier for recruiters to just follow.
Zoho Sprints: Built-In Online Meetings
Meetings now live directly inside Sprints through the Zoho Meeting plugin or Zoom, with scheduling, minutes, recordings, and downloadable transcripts attached to the sprint itself. Small update, but it means an engagement finally shows more than just its task list when you open it up.
Zoho Mail: Introducing Web Tabs
Web tabs come to Mail, so a CRM dashboard or an Analytics view can sit right next to the inbox for the people who just want to see the numbers without clicking around inside Analytics. One caution: don’t use web tabs to keep somebody out of the app they should actually be working in. If your team is handling support tickets, put them in Desk where statuses and SLAs live. Dashboards and reporting views are the right use case here.
Zoho CRM Developer: API Field Behavior Changes
Layout rules that set fields mandatory are now enforced at the API layer, so an insert or update that meets the rule criteria and omits the required field will fail instead of sailing through. Worth auditing any integration that pushes records into a module with layout rules on it.
Zoho Projects: Enhanced Time Log Grid View
The refined time log grid pulls hours logged against tasks and issues into a single interactive grid, which makes entry quicker and patterns easier to spot without hopping between views.
Zoho Recruit: LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect Integration
Recruiter System Connect is live, bringing live two way sync between LinkedIn Recruiter and Zoho Recruit, including one click candidate export with the source logged automatically. RSC is available on all paid Recruit plans across both editions and needs a Recruiter Corporate or RPS seat on the LinkedIn side, and if you also carry a Hiring Assistant subscription, RSC+ turns Recruit job openings into Recruiter projects and scores every applicant regardless of where they came from.
Zoho Desk: WhatsApp Business Pricing Updates
More PSA than feature news, this one breaks down WhatsApp Business Platform message pricing ahead of Meta’s October 1, 2026 change, which starts billing per business message including service replies sent inside the 24 hour window.
Zoho Sign: Set Up Signature Workflows with Zoho MCP
Sign now connects through Zoho MCP, so AI agents built on Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or GitHub Copilot can kick off and manage signature workflows from a prompt.
Zoho Expense: Introducing Integrated Travel
Flight, hotel, cab, and train booking moves inside Expense with policy checks running in the booking flow, so trips and the expenses they generate stop living in two separate systems.
Zoho Notebook: Notebook Pro Plus Subscription
Pro Plus folds Notebook Pro and Notebook AI into a single subscription, so there is no separate AI add-on to buy alongside it.
Zoho Mail: Email Translation on Android
The Android app can now translate email content into your preferred language, catching mobile up to what the web client has had for a while.
Zoho Trident: Desk Smart Mail and Cliq Meeting Support
Trident for Windows adds Desk to Smart Mail’s live data view and revamps the Cliq meeting preview, letting hosts manage participant permissions and add participants, co-hosts, and speakers before the meeting even starts.

Merge a Zoho Writer Template to PDF and Upload to Workdrive
This one is an adaptation of a snippet from Victor, one of our developers in Brazil, and it covers a flow we run constantly: build a document from a template, turn it into a PDF, and file it in WorkDrive. You pass in a Writer template ID, a target WorkDrive folder ID, a file prefix, your field definitions, and a list of maps holding the actual merge data, then the function hits the Writer merge API with PDF output and pushes the file up through WorkDrive’s API. What makes it worth stealing is the polish. Victor built a result map with real codes and messages instead of info statements, added null and error checks throughout, and wrapped the whole thing in a try catch so unexpected failures still come back with the line that broke, and it returns the permalink of the uploaded file when it finishes. Two notes if you adapt it: swap the format parameter in the output settings if you want a Word doc, HTML, or a native Writer doc instead of a PDF, and add an API call to create a public or download share link if the file needs to reach someone outside your org. Also worth remembering that Writer templates with repeating sections can merge multiple records into one combined document or one document per record, depending on how you set the template output.
