What is Zoho Bookings?
Zoho Bookings is Zoho’s native appointment scheduling tool that helps businesses streamline the process of setting up client meetings, calls, and consultations. It allows for real-time availability syncing with both Zoho Calendar and third-party calendars like Google or Outlook, letting customers book their own appointments through a customizable portal. With built-in payment support, automated reminders, and multi-location scheduling, it's a potentially powerful tool—particularly if you're already working in the Zoho ecosystem.
Compared to standalone competitors like Calendly or Acuity, Zoho Bookings offers the advantage of tighter integration across Zoho’s suite of apps, including CRM, Calendar, and Meeting. However, while it's free and improving steadily, it still lacks some of the polish and reliability of dedicated appointment platforms. For small teams who want everything under one roof, Zoho Bookings can be an effective entry point—but for high-volume booking needs, more robust tools might be required.
Why we rate it "Maybe"
Our “Maybe” rating comes from a place of cautious optimism. Zoho Bookings is clearly a product that’s evolving—its interface has gotten cleaner, its integrations more thoughtful, and features like Zoom and Zoho Meeting syncing now work quite well.
However, we’ve encountered consistent issues when it comes to high-volume usage. Double bookings, conflicts with other tools, and confusing calendar sync behavior are common pain points. That said, if your team operates entirely within the Zoho ecosystem and your scheduling needs are fairly light, it can be a great cost-effective solution. Just know you may need to build workarounds to make it bulletproof. We’ll be keeping a close eye on its roadmap, and we’d love to raise this rating if future updates resolve these core limitations.
